The cyclists of the STIHL Tour des Trees faced the most challenging terrain of the 2011 Tour today: 65 miles of Skyline Drive (and that was AFTER the 12-mile ascent to the park). The weather has been beautiful, the scenery is spectacular, and the riders were primed for the challenge. They’ve spent the summer training for the ride and fundraising for the TREE Fund, but this week their focus is 100% on riding.
You can support the Tour riders on their toughest day by making an online donation to the Tour, a team or an individual rider. OR text from your mobile device: Donate (space) the $$ amount of your choice and your favorite rider’s/team’s name to 27138 to charge your donation to your credit card. (Ex: text: “DONATE 50 HSTEUSSY” OR “DONATE 100 TEAMWISCONSIN” to 27138). You’ll receive a phone call to confirm your credit card info. The Tour conquered the toughest climb of the ride today.
You can help us top our fundraising goal, set at $500,000 to support research and education. Please donate today to help the 2011 Tour reach the top of that hill!

The TREE Fund mission:
GRADY!
That was my biggest day ever! 103.5 miles and almost 10,000 feet of elevation gain. I thought I would sag up the hardest 8% grades – 11 miles – but was committed before I knew what hit me!
